Mike Leonard

Mike Leonard is the founder of Ivory Tyger, and plays keyboards, Tenor sax, percussion, and rhythm guitar. He arranges much of the material, and acts as the group's manager. He is a prolific songwriter, and the Tyger is starting to work into their format, including the dark ballad some of this material "Wasted Memories".

Though born in San Diego, CA, Mike grew up in Liverpool NY, learning to play drums, keyboards, and guitar. He performed in many musicals, including South Pacific, and as Snoopy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Mike moved to Detroit in 1983 and finished high school there, going to Specs-Howard School of Broadcasting. He moved to St. Petersburg FL in 1987, and working as a television director, and then as head sound technician for the Disney On Ice World Tour, he continued writing songs and played in various bands before founding the Tyger in 1994.
